Prefab House on the Hill in Remote Location

This complex prefab house is located on the top of the hill near Granite Falls, Washington, about an hour outside of Seattle. The site has a lot of beauty around but doesn't have electricity, water or roads. Because of conditions prefabricated structure was choose to overcome the difficult nature of the site. The frame is made of steel covered with 4-by-22-foot panels, acting as walls. The panels follow a simple pattern that leaves open space for dramatic floor-to-ceiling windows throughout the house which capture awesome views around. A lot of elements around the house are custom made by artists which happened to be friends of the owner. Even though prefab houses usually are simple and not different from each other, this house designed by Anderson Anderson Architecture became a truly unique home.
