Sanrio fans would definitely like it. Even though its design is a bit overwhelming for a full-size home it’s ok when the home is for vacations only. Seems this one is built exactly for that purpose. Whimsical Wooden Tree House Brings Nature, Music to Life in Portland, Oregon

Nature with architecture is not an odd pairing by any means, but it’s never been done quite like this. But another factor plays heavily on this contemporary, flowing style – music. Architect Robert Harvey Oshatz has created this awesome, artistic piece of architecture in the woods of Portland, Oregon, for a client who’s love of music would be translated into a modern home. This impressive design was seven years in the making, from the drawing board to its completion in 2004, and it was worth every last second of the wait. The main living level of this contemporary tree house sits in the canopy, among lush green leaves with the dewy earth rolling out below. It’s one of those designs that’s difficult to describe. According to the architect, “One has to actually stroll through the house to capture its complexities and its connection to the exterior with the use of a natural wood ceiling floating on curving laminated wood beams which pass through a generous glass wall which wraps around the main living room.” Architect Robert Harvey Oshatz.

Rustic Style House Plan on Volga River, Russia

Volga House was designed by architect Peter Kostelov in the Konakovsky District of Tverskaya region, Russia. This modest yet modern rustic style house plan proves that modern, functional living doesn’t have to be all glitz and glam. Quite the opposite, this countryside home is very down to earth both in its look and feel. Starting with the exterior, the home’s wood-clad facade is a collage of assorted wood types and colors, dotted with variously shaped windows and timber-shuttered openings. The simple shape of the house translates to a straightforward layout inside, arranging living spaces across its three storeys. The main floor welcomes you into a large, open concept-space with a kitchen, living/dining area, and a sunny veranda that offers indoor-outdoor living. Up the open staircase, the second floor features bedrooms, bathrooms and dressing rooms. Up on the third level you’ll find a studio, sauna, another bathroom and a summer veranda overlooking the countryside nd the Volga River. Peter Kostelov via Arch Daily

Prefab House on the Hill in Remote Location

This complex prefab house is located on the top of the hill near Granite Falls, Washington, about an hour outside of Seattle. The site has a lot of beauty around but doesn't have electricity, water or roads. Because of conditions prefabricated structure was choose to overcome the difficult nature of the site. The frame is made of steel covered with 4-by-22-foot panels, acting as walls. The panels follow a simple pattern that leaves open space for dramatic floor-to-ceiling windows throughout the house which capture awesome views around. A lot of elements around the house are custom made by artists which happened to be friends of the owner. Even though prefab houses usually are simple and not different from each other, this house designed by Anderson Anderson Architecture became a truly unique home.
